Vikrant Massey reflects on his versatile journey: “I always wanted to be the first choice”

What do you have lined up this year? This year is going to be exciting for me as I have a couple of films ready for release. Dhoom Dham is already out, and Ghamasan was screened at the MAMI festival. That film is also ready, and I’m hoping its release will be announced soon. Another project, Phule, is also complete, and I’m just waiting for its release. Apart from films, I have a couple of web shows lined up. One of them is the biggest of my career so far—Gandhi, produced by Applause Entertainment, which is currently in production. So, this year is going to be full of excitement for me.

Last year was quite eventful for you—from a fate fighter in Do Aur Do Pyaar to a firefighter in Agni? Yes, moving from Do Aur Do Pyaar to Agni was a joyride—truly a memorable experience for me. I consider myself lucky to have played such diverse characters from different worlds and perspectives. Each story was unique, and nothing is more fulfilling than being able to portray a wide range of roles. To be seen as an actor capable of handling such varied characters is deeply satisfying. I am immensely grateful to all the writers and directors who envisioned me in these roles and gave me the opportunity to bring them to life.

As you look back, do you feel satisfied with your versatile work? My journey has been extremely fulfilling and filled with gratitude. I owe so much to the people who believed in me and my craft, allowing me to take on such diverse characters. As an actor, I have been subconsciously preparing for opportunities like these. I always aspired to be the first choice for writers and directors, and I finally feel that this is happening to a large extent. I am receiving great scripts and getting to collaborate with talented, visionary directors, writers, and filmmakers. The only word that comes to mind right now is ‘satisfying.’
