Tamannaah Bhatia shuts down ‘milky beauty’ stereotype with powerful response; says, “Glamour in a woman is to be celebrated”

Tamannaah Bhatia, who is gearing up for the release of Odela 2, addressed the ‘milky beauty’ tag often associated with her. During a promotional event for the film, she gave an empowering response when asked why she was chosen to play the role of Shivashakti.

When a journalist asked, “Why did you think a milky beauty could be Shivashakti?”, Tamannaah confidently responded, “Your question, ma’am, has the answer in it.” Pointing toward the makers, she added, “He doesn’t look at a milky beauty as something that has to be shamed or to feel bad about, glamour in a woman is to be celebrated and we women must celebrate ourselves, then we can expect others to celebrate us.”

Tamannaah further added, “If we look at ourselves in a certain way then nobody can respect us right. Here we have a wonderful gentleman who does not look at women like that, he looks at women like divine, and divine can be glamorous, divine can be lethal, divine can be powerful, divine can be many things. A woman can be many many things.”

Her words highlight her confidence and the evolving portrayal of women in cinema, where strength and glamour can coexist seamlessly.

Tamannaah Bhatia has become one of the most sought-after actors in Indian cinema, with a career spanning over a decade across multiple industries. Her role in the Baahubali franchise solidified her status as a true star.

In 2024, Tamannaah captivated audiences with the special number Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2. The song became the biggest hit of the year, reaffirming her enduring appeal.

Odela 2, the sequel to Odela Railway Station, explores the story of the fictional village of Odela. Tamannaah Bhatia stars alongside Vasishta N Simha, who plays the antagonist, and Hebah Patel in key roles. Produced by D Madhu under Madhu Creations and Sampath Nandi Teamworks, the film features music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. Centered on how Odela Mallanna Swamy safeguards his village from evil forces, Odela 2 is set to release on April 7.
