Sara Ali Khan admits she once felt jealous of Alia Bhatt’s career and personal life: “I, as an actor, de-humanised her”
Sara Ali Khan admitted that she once experienced jealousy towards Alia Bhatt’s career and personal life. During NDTV Yuva, she revealed feeling this way when Alia won the National Award. Sara also thought Alia’s “life is set” since she had a child as well.
Sara admitted that she initially “de-humanised” Alia, overlooking the struggles she might have faced. Sara said, “When Alia got the National Award, I was like, ‘God she got it, she has a kid also, her life is set.’ But I don’t know what she went through to get that. I, as an actor, de-humanised her. You don’t know, she must have had challenges and disappointments too, to reach where she has. But I didn’t realise what went into it. There are two sides to every coin.”
Sara emphasized the importance of understanding a person's full journey before feeling envious. She added, “Most often, when we are envious of other people, we feel so without all the information. We are envious because we just see that success and then we want that. We don’t see what goes behind it, we never see it. Envy means blindness.”
Alia married Ranbir Kapoor in April 2022 in a traditional Hindu ceremony at their Mumbai apartment. Later that year, on November 6, she welcomed their daughter, Raha Kapoor. In October 2023, she received a National Award for her performance in the 2022 film Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Alia will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. Announced in January 2024, the film has generated significant buzz. She will also star in Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail, a part of Yash Raj Films' spy universe, set to release on December 25.
Sara was last seen in Sky Force alongside Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, and Nimrat Kaur. She will next appear in Anurag Basu's Metro... In Dino, featuring Anupam Kher, Konkona Sen, Neena Gupta, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aditya Roy Kapur. The anthology film is set to release in theatres on July 4 this year.
