Salman Khan recalls 45-minute flight turbulence; says, “I thought, arey baap re! Even the pilots looked tense”
Salman Khan recently opened up about a frightening experience during a flight that encountered extreme turbulence for 45 minutes. While traveling back from an award show in Sri Lanka with Sonakshi Sinha and his younger brother Sohail Khan, the Dabangg actor revealed that the situation became tense when oxygen masks dropped, and even the air hostesses began praying. Despite the chaos, Sohail Khan remained unfazed and slept through the entire ordeal.
45 Minutes of Severe Turbulence During his debut podcast appearance on his nephew Arhaan Khan’s YouTube channel Dumb Biryani, Salman Khan detailed the near-death experience. He recalled, “We were coming back from IIFA Sri Lanka. Everyone was laughing, and suddenly, there was turbulence. At first, it seemed normal, but then the noise grew louder, and the entire flight went silent. Sohail and I were on the same flight, and when I looked at him, he was sleeping. The turbulence continued for 45 minutes.”
The situation intensified when even the pilots appeared tense. Salman admitted that he got scared when he saw the flight attendants praying. “I looked at the air hostess, and she was praying. That’s when I thought, Arey baap re! Even the pilots looked tense, they usually are very chilled. Then, the oxygen masks dropped, and I was thinking, ‘I’ve only seen this happen in films!’” Fear Turns to Silence as the Flight Lands After 45 minutes of turbulence, the situation calmed, and passengers started relaxing again. However, another 10-minute bout of turbulence quickly silenced everyone. “Sonakshi and her mother were also there. But suddenly, the turbulence started again, this time for another 10 minutes, and everyone immediately stopped laughing. From that moment until we landed, nobody said a word. But the moment we touched down, everyone suddenly became a stud. Their walk changed,” Salman humorously recalled.
On the work front, Salman Khan is currently filming his upcoming action drama Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss. The film features an ensemble cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar in pivotal roles
