AR Rahman joins Ed Sheeran at Chennai concert; enthrall public with their unexpected collab on ‘Urvashi Urvashi’ and ‘Shape Of You’

Chennai audience witnessed an iconic moment at the Ed Sheeran concert which was held in the city this week. With the American music icon taking over the stage, the latter was accompanied by none other than Oscar winning maestro A R Rahman as they came together for an unexpected collab, leaving the audiences surprised and thrilled. A glimpse of the same was dropped on social media by Ed Sheeran himself with fans reacting to the frame-worthy moment.

The video clip shared by the American pop idol starts off with his cult number ‘Shape of You’ followed by the entry of A R Rahman, who smoothly blends in the lyrics of ‘Urvashi Urvashi’. A loud cheer from the audience showcases their excitement as they witnessed a dreamy crossover on stage. Ed Sheeran captioned the video expressing his happiness over the collab as he said, “What an honor” in a joint post with Rahman.

Fans couldn’t stop gushing over the same and dropped many comments on the post which said, “Shape of URVASI”, “We got an AR Rahman and Ed Sheeran Collab before GTA 6”. “Frame paarunga ji”, “The collab no one asked for but everyone wanted”, “Omg how lucky is Chennai”, “LEGENDS WOW”, “Manifested this and it happened”, were some of the comments posted by enthusiastic fans.

On the other hand, A R Rahman also revealed how Ed decided to meet him and his A R Ameen and posted photos from the musician’s studio visit on his social media, along with heart emojis in the caption. In another post, he wrote, “Ed Sheeran at KMMC — a moment we’ll cherish forever! ???? Thank you for inspiring our students and supporting the Sunshine Orchestra’s journey. Music truly has the power to connect us all!”
