Ajay Devgn’s last film, Singham Again, was a box office success. The action drama, inspired by the Ramayana, has crossed Rs 240 crore at the national box office.
Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur are set to share the screen in Son of Sardaar 2. The film, which began shooting in Scotland last year, now has an official release date—July 25, 2025. A sequel to Son of Sardaar, which starred Sonakshi Sinha, the upcoming film promises to bring back the action and drama.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced on X that, “AJAY DEVGN: ‘SON OF SARDAAR 2’ RELEASE DATE LOCKED… 25 July 2025 is the release date of #SonOfSardaar2, the much-anticipated sequel to #SonOfSardaar [2012]. Starring #AjayDevgn and #MrunalThakur, #SOS2 is directed by #VijayKumarArora. The 2012 film Son of Sardaar starred Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt as Billu and Jassi. Last year, reports suggested that Dutt faced visa issues preventing him from traveling to the UK, but later, Dainik Bhaskar claimed he and Devgn would shoot in Punjab. The sequel, Son of Sardaar 2, will not be connected to the original but will feature elements reminiscent of Vasooli Bhai and a gang war between Bihari and Punjabi dons. Ravi Kishan’s original role, initially given to Vijay Raaz, has now been finalized for Sanjay Mishra, while Dutt will portray a don. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film arrives nearly 12 years after the original.
