Kunickaa Sadanand claims Kumar Sanu tried to take his life due to marital struggles: “He wanted to jump from the hotel’s window”

Actress Kunickaa Sadanand made startling revelations about her relationship with legendary singer Kumar Sanu during a recent podcast with Siddharth Kannan. She revealed that the two shared a secret romance for five years, but the relationship came with its own set of challenges. One of the most shocking aspects she shared was that Sanu once attempted to take his life due to his troubled relationship with his first wife, Rita Bhattacharya.

Kunickaa Sadanand Recalls Kumar Sanu's Dark Moment Kunickaa explained that their paths first crossed when she was trying to make a name for herself in the industry, while Sanu was at the height of his career. Recalling a particularly distressing incident, Kunickaa revealed, "He was in a very difficult relationship with his wife Rita. We met when I was in Ooty for a shoot and he was there for a vacation with his sister and nephew. We were sharing a drink once and he got very drunk. He started crying and he wanted to jump from the hotel’s window. He was very depressed. We held him down." How Kunickaa Sadanand and Kumar Sanu’s Relationship Evolved Following this incident, Kunickaa shared that Sanu separated from his wife and moved closer to her home. They soon began dating, and for five years, their relationship remained a secret from the public. “I was like a wife to him, I considered him like my husband,” Kunickaa said. The Strain of Kumar Sanu’s Marital Life Kunickaa also spoke about the turmoil that ensued when Sanu’s first wife, Rita, discovered their affair. She claimed that Rita confronted her, even damaging her car with a hockey stick. "She would come outside my house and scream. But I understood her. She wanted money for her children, she wasn’t wrong. She said she didn’t want him back," Kunickaa explained. Kumar Sanu’s Divorce and New Marriage Eventually, Kunickaa and Kumar Sanu’s relationship ended, and the singer went on to marry his second wife, Saloni. Sanu's marriage to Rita, which took place in the 1980s, ended in 1994 after she learned about his affair with another woman. Sanu and Rita have three children together—Jiko, Jassi, and Jaan, the latter of whom gained fame on Bigg Boss 14.
