Allu Arjun reveals how he said ‘I will never do a Hindi film’ to Rockstar DSP
Currently known as one of the biggest Indian superstars with the grand success of Pushpa: The Rise, Allu Arjun opened up about why he never wanted to do a Hindi film when he entered the industry. Readers would be aware that currently the Telugu superstar enjoys a widespread audience across the country, thanks to his popularity as Pushparaj. As the world gears up to see him return to the big screens in this much-loved character with the sequel – Pushpa 2: The Rule, Arjun recalled a conversation about his Bollywood debut he had with the film’s music composer Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad.
Allu Arjun created a record after becoming the first Telugu actor to have bagged the National Film Award for his performance in Pushpa: The Rise. As he was asked about doing a Bollywood debut, the actor revealed a conversation he had with Rockstar DSP, wherein he told the latter that it was easier for him to bag a Hindi film as a music director. “We both come from Chennai. I used to tell him it is very difficult for me to do a Hindi film, but as a music director, it is easy for him to do a Hindi film. I would ask him why he doesn’t do it. He would respond, ‘No, and why don’t you do a Hindi film and along with you, I will also do a Hindi film.’ I said I will never do a Hindi film because at that time it was extremely hard to do a Hindi film,” Allu Arjun confessed.
He went on to add, "Doing a Hindi film was such a huge thing. Maybe in our lifetime, we will do one or two Hindi films. It was that far away for us to do Hindi films. From that mindset to coming to this stage and standing here is a very big thing for me. We both won National Awards and gave a national superhit album for the same film. It is the most precious thing ever to happen for us.”
Coming to the film Pushpa 2: The Rule, the film also starring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in key roles, is slated to release on December 5 in multiple, languages including Hindi.
