Mudassar Aziz DEFENDS Akshay Kumar amid flop streak, draws parallel with Shah Rukh Khan: “Writing someone off is fashionable”

Despite positive reviews, Akshay Kumar's latest film, Khel Khel Mein, directed by Mudassar Aziz, hasn't been performing well at the box office. The comedy showcases Akshay's return to the genre after a string of action films and biopics. In the film, he plays Rishabh, a plastic surgeon facing marital problems with his wife Vartika (Vaani Kapoor).

Akshay Kumar's Dedication Highlighted by Director In a recent interview with Indian Express, Mudassar addressed Akshay's recent box office struggles. He expressed confidence in the actor's ability to overcome this phase. "I am too junior in the film industry to comment on someone as accomplished as Akshay Kumar," said Mudassar. "He has a 33-year career in entertainment and constantly strives to prove himself. He's a deep thinker who considers multiple factors, so I'm sure he's already strategizing a comeback. After all, form is temporary, but class is permanent." Drawing Parallels with Shah Rukh Khan's Career Mudassar further compared Akshay Kumar's situation to Shah Rukh Khan's past career slumps. He criticized the tendency to quickly dismiss successful actors. Mudassar believes Akshay will find his way back, just like Shah Rukh Khan did after facing a low period. He recalled, “He will find his way. It has happened too many times before. It has happened with Shah Rukh Khan sahab for five-seven years. Unfortunately, we live in a society where writing somebody off is very fashionable.”

He further added, “But all that said, I, as a filmmaker, will share my experience working with him. For somebody who likes to make comedies and make everyone laugh in the audience, which is my fuel, my experience with him has been exhilarating. We gave so many things to one another during the making of Khel Khel Mein.” Positive Work Experience with Akshay Kumar Mudassar shared a positive experience of working with Akshay on Khel Khel Mein. "He will always be Akshay Kumar in my eyes and the eyes of many across India," Mudassar concluded. He highlighted Akshay's collaborative spirit and the invigorating experience of working with him on a comedic project.
