Anees Bazmee REACTS to Singham Again clashing with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: “We had decided the release in advance”

The upcoming Diwali box office is heating up with the news of a clash between two highly anticipated films – Rohit Shetty's Singham Again starring Ajay Devgn and Anees Bazmee's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 starring Kartik Aaryan. Both Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are considered big-budget films and have generated significant pre-release buzz. Fans are eagerly anticipating this epic box office showdown.

In an interview with HT City, director Anees Bazmee shared his thoughts on the clash. He expressed his reservations, stating, "Clashes are never a good idea. We had announced our release date for BB3 a year in advance. I don’t know kya karein abhi.”

Bazmee acknowledged the potential financial drawbacks of a clash. He stated, "All films get affected when there is a clash, nuksaan toh hota hai. Aur baat product mein confidence ki nahin hai. Duniya ka har director, actor, writer hamesha apni film ke baare mein confidently baat karta hai.” (And it is all about having confidence in your product. The director indicated that changing the release date of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 wasn't currently under consideration, given the advance announcement. He asserted, “Aisa kabhi nahin socha hai since we had decided the release in advance. Ajay (Devgn) is a good friend and such date clashes are inevitable. Yeh hamare haath mein nahin hota.”

Anees Bazmee gives example of Animal

The filmmaker used Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming film Animal as an example. He argued that a strong film doesn't necessarily require a festival release date. "If the film is not good, then you can release it at any festival, it won't work. A good film doesn't need a date to work," he concluded.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee and starring Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, and Vidya Balan, is slated for its Diwali 2024 release.
