Singham Again: Rohit Shetty on shooting in Kashmir with Ajay Devgn, Jackie Shroff: “Once there was terrorism, unrest, curfews, no social life. And then Article 370 got abolished”

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty on Tuesday shared a behind-the-scenes video from the Kashmir leg of Ajay Devgn starrer Singham Again's filming. The clip offers a glimpse of the film's snowy backdrop, showcasing the picturesque Lal Bazaar, Dal Lake, and Kashmir's bustling streets. But the real stars of the video are Ajay Devgn and Jackie Shroff, along with Rohit Shetty himself.

Fans are seen showering the actors with love, with Devgn, in his iconic Bajirao Singham attire, stealing the show. The video also features glimpses of Devgn during the shoot, along with Shetty interacting with police officers, meeting children, and signing autographs. In his heartfelt caption, Shetty expressed his gratitude to the people of Kashmir and Prime Minister Modi, thanking them for the "tremendous love."

Rohit Shetty also highlighted the positive changes in Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370. A text overlay on the video reads, “We always had a paradise in our motherland called Kashmir but once there was terrorism, unrest, curfews, no social life. And then Article 370 got abolished. 5 years later we landed up filming Singham Again. And now the New Kashmir. Happiness. Young energy. Tourism. Peace. Love. Naye Bharat ka naya Kashmir (New India's new Kashmir).”

Singham Again marks the expansion of Shetty's cop universe and sees the return of Ajay Devgn as the righteous cop, Bajirao Singham. Fans are eagerly awaiting the film, and the recent shift to Kashmir has only fueled the anticipation. Leaked photos from the shoot sent the internet into a frenzy, and now Shetty himself has unveiled an official photo featuring Devgn. The photo, unveiled on May 24th, showcases Devgn posing with army tanks, hinting at his character's role. The caption reads, “BAJIRAO SINGHAM! SSP (SOG) SPECIAL OPERATIONS GROUP JAMMU & KASHMIR POLICE… SINGHAM AGAIN… COMING SOON! #singhamagain.”

Singham Again is the third installment in the highly successful Singham franchise. Alongside Devgn and Shroff, the film boasts an impressive star cast including Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Arjun Kapoor.

The film's initial release date was set for August 15, 2024, but previous Bollywood Hungama report revealed a possible pushback to Diwali 2024 to avoid a clash with another highly anticipated movie, Pushpa: The Rule.
