Kiara Advani, Bhumi Pednekar, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and others laud the victory of All We Imagine As Light at Grand Prix
With many films from the Indian Entertainment Industry garnering global appeal, a recent movie to have experienced such a beautiful victory is All We Imagine As Light by Payal Kapadia. The film marked the directorial debut of the filmmaker and won the prestigious Grand Prix title at the Cannes Film Festival, making it the first film to have been felicitated with the honor after three decades. In fact, Payal also became the first Indian female director to have been receiving this award. Celebrities from the industry expressed their pride over the same and took to social media to pen heartfelt note, congratulating the team on their recent win.
Kiara Advani, Bhumi Pednekar, Radhika Apte, Soni Razdan, among others took to their Instagram stories to share about the win and congratulate the team. Kiara reposted a photo of the win from the Festival De Cannes page and said, “Congratulations” followed by a trophy and heart emoji showering her love. Whereas, Bhumi Pednekar shared a post from the MAMI Film Festival page and added, “Bravo” along with a clap emoji.
Radhika Apte too posted on her story saying, “Huge congratulations to the beautiful and incredible people behind this film (star emoji) This is just PERFECT (star-eye emoji)” along with the tagging the team. Soni Razdan also shared, “OMG. This is incredible! Huge congratulations Payal Kapadia and team (clap emojis)”.
Actress Swara Bhaskar too expressed pride by captioning it as, “Amazing”. Popular host and wife of filmmaker Kabir Khan, Mini Mathur also shared a video of the winning moment on her story and penned a note saying, “"The Grand prix!! After 30 years..an Indian film competes for the highest honour at @cannes_filmfestival!! A first win for a female director. And it took #PayalKapadia and three incredible women actors to tell this story #allweimagineaslight."
On the other hand, Saba Azad too penned a long note adding, "Fund good cinema!! Support independent filmmakers, support actors who give themselves wholly to the craft and aren't just in it for the frills- put your money behind talent!! And real talent may not mean the most famous or most familiar!! There is a kind of Indian cinema that deserves our attention and support, and it's shining the world over!! Let's give it the respect it deserves, back home too (red heart emojis)."

Speaking of the film, All We Imagine as Light is a 2024 drama film written and directed by Payal Kapadia. Starring Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Haroon in lead roles, the film features two Mumbai-based Malayali who decide to embark on a road trip to a beach town to escape their troubled lives in the city.
