Kriti Kharbanda shares a heartfelt note as she adorns ‘nani maa ka haar’ and ‘maa ka shaadi ka dupatta’ during her Chooda ceremony
Marriages hold a lot of emotional value and it seems for Kriti Kharbanda it was no different. When she turned bride, the actress confessed that she wanted to do some things by the book and also wanted to adorn accessories that were not just bought from designer stores but had some emotional value attached to it. Kriti, who is expected to share photos from the pre-wedding and wedding celebrations with Pulkit Samrat, posted a few unseen moments from her Chooda ceremony and also revealed that the accessories she wore belonged to her mother and maternal grandmother.
For the unversed, the Chooda ceremony is held prior to the wedding, in the morning, where the family gathers to help the bride wear the traditional Punjabi bangles in a ceremony along with Kaleere (umbrella-shaped ornaments worn along with them). Kriti Kharbanda took to her official Instagram handle to share some beautiful photos where she is seen wearing a beautiful and simple green saree and adorning matching gold jewellery which belongs to her maternal grandmother and a beautiful red dupatta which is a memory of her mother’s wedding.
Along with them, she also penned a heartfelt note saying, “Naani ma ka haar (grandmother’s necklace) aur ma ki shaadi ka dupatta (mom’s wedding scarf)! The two things I was sure I was going to adorn during my Chooda ceremony even before there was a boyfriend or a proposal <3 bachpan ka Sapna tha (childhood dream):) She went on to describe her ceremony and continued, “It was a magical morning. Riding high on emotions and my heart pounding coz pulkit and I weren’t allowed to meet or see each other before the pherA’s. While we did things our way, a few things were still old school :) I wish he was a part of this moment too, but sigh, I loved the look on his face the first time he saw these pictures and was bowled over <3”
She concluded by adding, “Laal chooda and traditional kaleera’s were a non negotiable too. The number of people who tried to convince me otherwise was insane. But I’m so glad I stuck to what I wanted to do and didn’t look back <3”
