This daily ritual left a lasting impression on young Mitali, igniting her fascination with the transformative power of make-up. "It always fascinated me,” Vakil reflected, adding, "Seeing someone put together like that, with makeup enhancing their features and exuding confidence."

Vakil passionately expressed, "I always used to think that makeup makes everything perfect and with make-up you are prepared to tackle the challenges of the day ahead. When you see your features enhanced, you can't help but feel more confident."

She emphasized the profound psychological impact of looking one's best, asserting that when you feel confident in your appearance, you naturally radiate positivity and confidence. However, Vakil also reflected on the challenging task of creating Parineeti Chopra's appearance in The Girl on the Train. She explained, "This role demanded prosthetic makeup to depict injuries, presenting a unique challenge. The irony in makeup's usual goal of enhancing beauty, as I had to achieve the opposite effect, making Parineeti's character appear less appealing."
