Hrithik Roshan admits, “Biggest validation comes from box office numbers”

Hrithik Roshan is currently in the news as his keenly awaited action film Fighter released in theatres last week on January 25. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie also stars Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover in pivotal roles. Over the years, Hrithik has given a number of box office hits. He has now said that box office numbers matter a lot to him, although he never admitted this before.

In a chat with PinkVilla, Hrithik said, “The biggest validation comes from the numbers, box office. That is something I have been a little shy to say in the past but that’s the truth. The biggest validation is box office numbers especially when you are making a film that is aimed at entertaining the audience that gets in the numbers. That’s one.”

Hrithik also told the publication that it is also important for his films to be loved by his near and dear ones. “People who I love and admire, I really hope that they like my work,” he added. “If I admire them then there is a perspective that they will be watching my work with and if I satisfy that perspective, then I rise a little bit in my own eyes because I see myself from their point of view. Feedback from my sons, family, partner is extremely important.”

Fighter is a fictional tale that is inspired from the real Pulwama terrorist attack that took place near the LOC (Line of Control) in 2019, in which a number of India’s CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) jawans lost their lives. The movie is produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Siddharth Anand and wife Mamta Anand’s banner Marflix Pictures.
