Taapsee Pannu reveals that her bagging Dunki started with a rumour; says, “Woh eklauta aisa ek rumour that jo achha tha aur sach hua”

Taapsee Pannu, who collaborated with Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan for the first time in Dunki, revealed that being a part of such a unique film was an opportunity she bagged just luck-by-chance. She mentioned that it all started with media reports claiming that she has been approached for the film and this rumour, incidentally came to be true when Rajkumar Hirani called.

Opening up about the moment she was approached for Dunki, Taapsee Pannu told NDTV, “Actually thoda funny hai mere liye bhi kyunki Dunki ka call jo pehla aya tha wo Raju Sir ka hi aya tha but usey pehle kaafi jagah aa chuka tha (The first call I got was from Raju Sir, and before that the rumours had already started).I am being considered for this film and I am doing this film and just like any other rumour, maine kaha ye toh possible hi nahi hai (I thought this is definitely not possible). Pehli baar dhanka rumour aya mere baare mein. Chalo main yahi sun ke khush hojati hun(For the first time, there was a good rumour about me. I was just happy only listening to it). But then I got a call from Sir.”

"Unhone pehle yahi kaha ke chalo media ne bata hi diya hai to maine socha main bhi phone karke bol hi dun Toh wo eklauta aisa ek rumour that jo achha tha aur sach hua (He told me, ‘since the media people have already spread the rumours, I thought I will only call and speak to you’. So it was the first rumour about me, which turned out to be true).”

For the unversed, Dunki also stars Anil Grover and Vikram Kochchar in key roles along with Vicky Kaushal in a pivotal cameo. The film released in theatres on December 21.
