Sunny Deol reveals why he skips Bollywood parties: “People used to think I was very snooty, very snobbish”

Bollywood actor Sunny Deol is known for his intense action roles and undeniable onscreen charm. But unlike many of his contemporaries, you won't find him lighting up the dance floor at industry parties. Deol, a self-proclaimed “early riser,” often opts for quiet evenings over the glitzy Bollywood nightlife.

“Initially, I hardly went anywhere,” Deol recently shared with NDTV. “People used to think I was very snooty, very snobbish, and this and that.” It took time for those around him to realize his reasons weren't rooted in arrogance, but a simple preference for a different pace. “They eventually understood ki yeh sharmata hai (that he is shy). Aana nahi chahta hai yeh. He doesn't drink. He doesn't know what to do. So, nahi aata (He does not wish to come). They understood me afterwards. So, there is no invitation after that,” he explained. Deol's introverted nature doesn't translate to a lack of fun, as his recent viral Christmas video proved. Dancing with a teddy bear, the clip showcased a more playful side of the action star. This softer side was earlierrevealed on Koffee With Karan, where host Karan Johar playfully exposed Deol's secret love for teddy bears. “Who would know that a man who could destroy a country with a hand pump, can be into teddy bears,” Johar quipped. Professionally, Deol's year has been nothing short of stellar. His highly anticipated film Gadar 2 roared back onto the big screen, smashing box office records and earning over Rs 600 crore in India alone. Now, rumorsswirl about his potential involvement in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, with some reports suggesting he might be in talks for the coveted role of Hanuman. While official confirmation is pending, the prospect of Deol breathing life into this mythological icon has already sparked excitement among fans.
