Kajol does an on-screen kiss for the first time, in her web show The Trial

The talented and gorgeous actress Kajol is back with her latest project, The Trial. It not just marks her first web show but is also the first time that she has indulged in a lip lock on screen. The actress, who debuted in 1992 with Bekhudi, had never indulged in a kiss with her co-star in these 31 years, until now.

The Trial is about a mother struggling to keep her family afloat after her husband is caught in a bribery and sex scandal. She is compelled to join a law firm to make ends meet. Kajol’s character’s name is Noyonika Sengupta and she gets a job in the firm co-owned by Vishal Choubey, essayed by Alyy Khan. Vishal turns out to be the ex-boyfriend of Noyonika and they dated when they were in college. Later, they broke up and Noyonika gets married to Rajeev Sengupta (Jisshu Sengupta). However, Noyonika and Vishal meet after many years and sparks fly, leading to the kiss at a crucial juncture in the show.

Incidentally, Alyy Khan had blurted about his kiss with Kajol way back in January 2023. He then said, “When I was younger, one of my favourite actors was Kajol. I’ve been watching her work for three decades; we used to work together in the same studio. I had heard she was very hot-headed. And now, I just finished a series with her in which I’m playing her boyfriend in which we had a kissing scene.”

He further said, “I play her boyfriend, her boss, and we had this French kiss. We went to solve some cases, and we were college sweethearts, and our romance reignited. Now, it’s work, so it has to be done. We were shooting at a posh hotel in Mumbai, and the director asked if we’d like a closed set, which means that only the important people would be allowed to be present. I told the director and Kajol both how I was going to approach the kiss… But not for one second was there any shame, or embarrassment, or hesitation.”

Lastly, he stated, “It was such a professional shoot. And when we were done — we rehearsed three or four times — and we walked over to the monitors, asked each other if we were happy, and moved on. Kajol said, ‘Thank you, my darling’.”
