Kajol asserts playing a powerful character comes naturally to her ahead of The Trial release
Bollywood actress Kajol is currently bagging praises for her latest film, Lust Stories 2. For the unversed, Kajol led the Amit Sharma directorial segment in the Netflix original along with Kumud Mishra. Amid the praises, the actress is awaiting the release of her long-format debut, The Trial: Pyaar Kanoon Dhokha. While speaking of the same, Kajol asserted that playing a powerful character is 'natural' for her rather than portraying a weak character.
In a conversation with PTI, the actress said, “To play a strong, powerful character is easier for me than to play a weak character. It is natural for me to be strong rather than to be vulnerable.”
Speaking of her character in the upcoming web show on Disney+ Hotstar, she added, “The great thing about Noyonika is that she is a strong person but when a strong person is put in a situation, where they are weakened and vulnerable, that’s a tough thing to play. It was one of the reasons why I love her as a character.”
Kajol explained, “Suparn (Varma, the director of The Trial) wanted me because she is a public figure and she is a mother of two kids; there are so many factors in her character. One thing I resonate a lot more with Noyonika is the core, she is an eminently practical woman. She will do what needs to be done, even if it hurts her sensibility. If she knows it needs to be done, she will do it for the good of the family. She will go ahead and do it because there’s nobody else to do it.”
Coming back to The Trial, it is a Hindi adaptation of the American political-legal drama, The Good Wife. The series will start streaming on the OTT platform from July 14 onwards.
