Huma Qureshi walks out of big film item song shoot; says, “Lyrics are so cringe”

Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is receiving rave reviews for her portrayal of celebrity chef Tarla Dalal in the film Tarla. Recently, in an interview, the talented actress candidly discussed various aspects of her career, including an incident where she decided to walk out of an item song shoot due to the lyrics.

In an interview with Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story, speaking about the same, Huma revealed that she attended a few days of rehearsals for the item song but eventually realized that she could not go through with it. Huma said, “Sometimes I get offered item songs, and there was one particular time, a big producer, a big film, and they offered me this song. I said, you know what, why not? Everyone does it, and I did go for a couple of days of rehearsal as well, and my costume was made. But then I was like, no, these lyrics are so cringe. How can I?”

Huma had also opened up on the time when she was called a vamp in Monica O My Darling. Talking about it, she said, “I love the fact that I can own my sexuality and I can use it. The whole thing about doing the film called Monica O My Darling was exactly this. I remember correcting a journalist who said, ‘Oh, but Monica is a vamp.’ I said, ‘No, one second. All these actors sitting over here, everyone’s playing a great character. You have not used a term for any other guy but for her because she is using her body.”

On the work front, Huma's Tarla released recently. Directed by the talented Piyush Gupta and supported by the creative vision of Ronnie Screwvala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Nitesh Tiwari, Tarla is an uplifting and heartwarming tale of triumph. The movie released on Zee5 and aimed to inspire and captivate audiences with Tarla Dalal's extraordinary journey.
