Akshay Kumar goes cycling; Twinkle Khanna goes for a walk during their Maldives vacation

Before the New Year, Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna flew to the Maldives with their daughter Nitara. Twinkle's 48th birthday will be celebrated at the gorgeous spot, and the couple shared candid videos from there.

"When your Monday looks like a Sunday," Akshay captioned a video of himself pedaling to his ocean-view villa. He was cycling barefoot while enjoying the cool wind in an animal print shirt and black shorts. In the background, the song ‘Rait Zara Si’ from his latest album Atrangi Re being played.

Twinkle posted a video of herself going happily down the wooden road to their cottage before sprinting over to hug Nitara, who she had met along the way. She added the following caption to the video, “Birthday celebrations have already begun with trapping golden sunlight within the pores of my skin, my hair salty from the hazy blue sea and my heart filled to the brim. A deeply relaxing break at the gorgeous @discoversoneva #birthdaybreak.”

On the work front, Akshay Kumar has had a busy year with his film Atrangi Re recently premiering on Disney+ Hotstar. He makes a cameo appearance in the Aanand L Rai film, which also stars Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan.

He's also riding high on the success of Sooryavanshi, which was finally released in theatres last month after being delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak. So far, it has raked in Rs. 195.04 crores at the domestic box office. Bell Bottom, Akshay's first picture of the year, was the first to be released in theatres after a more than a year-long hiatus caused by the pandemic-induced lockdown.

In the historical drama Prithviraj, Akshay will be seen opposite former Miss World Manushi Chhillar. He's already wrapped on the sets of Bachchan Pandey and Raksha Bandhan. He's been filming for Ram Setu and is currently working on OMG 2 – Oh My God! 2.
